Joomla iProperty – Integrate Your RETS and IDX with vieleRETS

The development team has decided to add support for yet another third party application.  iProperty, a Joomla component, will be supported in the next release of vieleRETS.  A standard schematic for the database will added so MLS RETS data can be dynamically added to your Joomla iProperty website automatically.  Once the MLS connection is established, mapping source data to the target database is a simply point and click process similar in process to the standard SQL feature currently in vieleRETS.  There will be expansions to the geocoding features as well, read below.

vieleRETS currently supports Open-Realty, Orodha, CSV and SQL as default features with plans for a home grown database structure in addition to iProperty.

What is iProperty?

From the vendor;  Intellectual Property allows independent real estate agents, brokers, or property management companies to upload and maintain property listings for sale, for rent and for lease. Upload photos, add categories, sub-categories, agent profiles, company profiles.  Search with an advanced Google Map-Ajax-based map interface.  Allow users to save and manage favorite properties.  Quickly customize colors, filters, galleries and more!

iProperty is the only component application for Joomla that can support tens of thousands of MLS listings without suffering a substantial failure in performance.  Members of the vieleRETS team have been working with literally dozens of iProperty Joomla sites over the past 90 days and in each instance iProperty is declared a winner.  Some of the professional features iProperty has include the mega popular MAP search feature, Open House, Gallery, and PDF Generator for listings.

iProperty and vieleRETS for Google Geocoding of Listings

One of the features we are most proud of in vieleRETS 2.0 is the ability to geocode listings in the event latitude and longitude details are not in the source data. The new feature provides users of vieleRETS to add in the Latitude and Longitude after the MLS update has taken place. Now that support for iProperty is being added in we will extend this functionality to work with their database structure.  iProperty differs from most real estate applications in that it puts the Latitude and Longitude in the actual listings table as opposed to a separate GeoCode table you most often see.  Our new geocode feature does require you to have an API key from google and if you do not have a commercial license the GeoCode feature will need to be ran multiple times due to the 2,000 GeoCode address limitation from Google.  More on this later.
